Objectives
Revisit the cult 2004 music video Respire with Bigflo & Oli, while preserving the essence and graphic universe that had marked both audiences and the industry.
What we did
- Integrated new sequences showing Bigflo & Oli watching the original clip, creating a bridge between the two generations.
- Developed an initial virtual production concept to immerse the artists in the world of the original video, before refocusing the project for feasibility and budget reasons.
- Preserved the original aesthetic to introduce the clip’s graphic universe to a new generation of viewers..

Creative process
- Explored a virtual production setup to modernise the clip without betraying its aesthetic.
- Refocused the project in response to constraints, while preserving the film’s visual DNA.
- Worked closely with the artists and the label to strike the right balance between tribute and reinterpretation.
- A hint of frustration remains: the resources available didn’t allow the virtual production approach to be explored further to imagine a true creative successor to the 2004 video. Maybe in 2030, who knows?
Results
- A music video that reconnected two generations of fans, introducing the song and its graphic universe to a new audience.
- Visual continuity that honours the cultural impact of the original clip while adding a contemporary touch.
Conclusion
This project gave new life to a classic, enhanced by the collaboration with Bigflo & Oli.
It reflects both the evolution of production techniques and the lasting power of the visual universe created in 2004 – and who knows, maybe a 2030 edition will finally do justice to the original’s creative ambition.
Blending image and music is one of my strengths. Got a video project?
